Haryana Governor, Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh reviewed the schemes of the Central and State Government and inspected various developmental activities during his two-day visit to Jind district.
The Governor held a meeting with district level officers at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind today where he took feedback on ongoing welfare schemes. The Governor directed officers to take strong measures for drug prevention, TB eradication, and crop residue management.
He also reviewed the activities of the Red Cross Society and suggested that more people should adopt TB patients under the Nikshay Yojana. Setting a personal example, he announced that he himself would adopt five TB patients and provide them with nutrition kits for six months.
The Governor emphasised effective implementation of MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and other rural development schemes so that eligible people get timely benefits. He directed officers to streamline the fertilizer distribution system and to regularly spread awareness among farmers about crop residue management.
Governor Prof. Ghosh, along with his wife Mitra Ghosh, visited primary schools in Jhanj Kalan and Jitgarh villages. He said discipline, good values, and interest in sports should be encouraged among children. He also appealed to parents to spend time with their children, observe their interests, and allow them the freedom to choose their field accordingly, so that they can showcase their talent in the right direction and achieve success.
He announced to give Rs 60,000 each for the development of both schools and directed school management committees to ensure nutritious and quality mid-day meals for children.
The Governor also visited the Primary Health Centre at Ramrai village. He met patients under treatment and inspected facilities including the laboratory, medicine storage, cold chain room, and medical records. At Jitgarh Primary School and Ramrai Health Centre, the Governor planted saplings and urged people to plant more trees and also take care of them afterwards.
